Belfast International Airport (IATA: BFS, ICAO: EGAA) is located 6 miles
from Antrim and 11.5 miles northwest of Belfast in Northern Ireland. It was
previously known and is still referred to as Aldergrove Airport, after the
village of the same name lying immediately next to the airport. Belfast
International shares its runways with the Royal Air Force base RAF Aldergrove,
which otherwise has its own facilities.
Belfast International is the second busiest airport on the island of Ireland
in terms of passenger numbers after Dublin Airport. It is followed by Cork and
Shannon it is the busiest airport in the traditional province of Ulster. It is
the largest of two airports in Belfast (the other being Belfast-City).
